Rob Holland Gives the Sling a Thumbs Up! Rob Holland, arguably the world’s best aerobatic pilot, loves the Sling! His smile says it all! Among the characteristics he commented on, “sexy” and “comfortable” were high on the list. We couldn’t agree more, Rob!  

We’ve had so many messages of support leading up to the Belgium trip, so we’d like to share more information with everyone as to the route that will be followed. Here’s a rough outline, complete with distances and expected flight times:

With just 13 days to go, it’s time to whet some appetites… So, here’s a map of the route that will be undertaken by James and Pierre. As you can see, there are some really long routes, but certainly nothing that James isn’t accustomed to.

We all know by now that not having a trip to plan for, makes James and Mike unhappy boys indeed. So, in the spirit of previous TAF adventures, a decision was made over a couple of beers that, instead of shipping a newly built Sling 2 to Belgium, James would take the “customer acceptance flight”

Sling LSA Kits Delivered to Taiwan! These are the first kits arriving at our Taiwanese Assembly Plant. In Taiwan, real estate is at a premium and, as such, they build upwards. Because of this, you can see them lifting the kits, by crane, into the factory which is on the fifth floor of a tall building  

In late December TAF delivered its first Slings with the new Garmin G3X EFIS systems to very proud owners Kevin Els and Thierry Plojoux & Rae Hoenderpoep. Feedback on the EFIS systems is that they are absolutely fantastic. The system can have an integrated auto pilot, transponder and radio if you want, freeing up panel

Congratulations to Karl-Heinz Wagner on completing his Sling 2 kit build. Karl built between his garage and his hangar in Windhoek in Namibia and it took him 75 weekends. “I have eventually completed my challenge. Took me app. 75 weekends single handed.
