Andrew Lane, the purchaser of the first Sling built by The Airplane Factory for delivery to a customer, had the public christen his hangar at Tedderfield on Saturday evening 5 February. This also posed the opportunity to get all 6 Slings in the air together on one of the most beautiful Johannesburg evenings in months.
To make matters better, Athol Frans, owner and publisher of African Pilot was present with his camera and Howard brought his beautiful EC120B helicopter along to facilitate some air to air shots. We hope that some of them will appear in the next edition of African Pilot.
Andrew’s new abode, the delivery of his Sling and the simultaneous launching of 6 Slings into the sky was celebrated in fine style by a number of guests until late into the night and the next day. Thanks to Andrew and all others that were involved.
