Chuuk is considered as the world’s greatest wreck diving destination and has miles and miles of mostly unexplored reef. Operation Hailstone, executed by the United States in 1944, culminated in one of the most important naval battles of the second world war resulting in a variety of Japanese warships, submarines and warplanes destroyed.
